Carly Kozak

Incase you missed it, I did a giveaway on my Lipsense FB Group (Carly's Lipstick Lovers). I decided that I would let Harper help me pick out the winner. She did such a good job. I can't believe how good her motor skills are getting. After I recorded her she was picking out each little slip of paper one at a time. She also tried to eat them haha. I think this is a sign that I should try Baby Led Weaning. I have read about it and I think I will give it a shot. We will start with avocados & squash. Hopefully baby girl likes it! I have a feeling this month is going to be one of the best yet.

This weekend Taylor and I took a little trip over to Boise for my good friend Delaina's reception. They actually got married a year ago, but were waiting to have a reception since Eli was in training for the military. I was so honored to be a part of this special day and celebrate with ma gurl. Her reception was so elegant. It was such a simple and beautiful day. It brought Taylor and I right back to our own wedding. That was my favorite day of all time. Harper had a blast at the reception. She was the star of course. She wasn't sure about dancing though haha. Taylor rocked the dance floor like always. Earlier in the day I got ready with D and all the bridesmaids. I let some of them try my Lipsense. I have to say, I think it was a real hit. You all should try it. It's honestly life changing. All our lips looked fabulous all night long. Taylor and I decided to get a hotel room. It was so nice just relaxing after the wedding. We got some panda express and passed out haha. Not before watching a little Harry Potter of course. I love going a small adventures with Taylor. It helps us reconnect when we can just hang out together. A huge shout out to Taylor because he honestly was the best husband this weekend. He watched Harper all night, danced with all of us bridesmaids, and was just SO MUCH FUN. He is the best ever. I am so happy I married him. He has become a better husband than I could have ever imagined. It's crazy how your love can just keep growing for one another. Marriage is the best.

As some of you many know, I decided to join the Lipsense game. I am going to be really honest. I hate MLMs. Like HATE. I used to get so annoyed with people messaging me and adding me to these stupid groups on Facebook. I was like leave me a lone, I'm poor! So I get it if you aren't interested in what I'm selling. I am so not offended! I know what it is like to not know if you can afford groceries, gas, rent, etc. I know what it is like living pay check to paycheck. I get it. But please don't hate me for reaching out to you. Tell me you aren't interested & I will leave you alone. Pinky swear.
There are so many reasons I decided to join this company. After Harper was born, I struggled a lot with anxiety and depression. I just felt like I was going crazy week after week. I love being a mom, but it's lonely sometimes. It's overwhelming. It is so hard. Anyone who says it's not hard is a straight up liar. I would cry to Taylor all the time and the week before I joined Lipsense I finally snapped. I didn't even know who I was. I had completely lost myself in diapers and nap schedules. I just prayed to God that I could find myself again. That night I had a dream that I was with my friend Genny and she was selling Lipsense. She was like hey you should sign up and sell with me. And I was like okay! This sounds so crazy, but when I woke up I knew that was the answer. I hadn't even tried Lipsense! I knew nothing about it. But I did know that my friend Genny suffered from PPD like me. So I watched a bunch of her videos and researched online about Senegence. I felt really connected to their products and mission. I listened to a few bloggers talk about why they joined and I messaged Genny saying I was interested in signing up under her. Am I a crazy person or what? I got myself some lipsense and signed up.
I honestly can't even believe how much this company has changed me since joining 5 days ago! In 4 days I made back my $55 dollar invest plus more. I feel so much more confident. I honestly feel like I am radiating happiness. I have made tons of friends through this business. These women are so incredible and supportive. I want to cry thinking about it. Please try this product! I promise you will love it, 100% money back guarantee! Help me change your life!

My sweet little girl isn't so little anymore. She is turning into a little lady. Lately Harper has been cracking me up. Everything she does is so funny to me. In church when we were singing hymns, she started yelling and waving her arms like she was singing along. It was so cute I couldn't help but bust up laughing. Harper is making all sorts of noises, but no real babbling yet. We are working on reading to her more and talking more around her. I know it will come, but I jut get stressed out when I see her even a little behind other babies her age. Harper isn't crawling yet either, but she is soo close. I think with more tummy time she will have it mastered in no time. She is finally wearing size 3 diapers and is around 18 lbs. Baby girl currently has a cold. We are all a little sick around here. But she is still her active crazy self. Tonight is Harper's first night back in her own bed (Dang CA trip messed us up so badly). I have hopes that this time will stick though. We are putting her in a pack and play by our bed and then moving in to her room in a week or two. We have to make baby steps since she is older. We waited way too long to put her in her own bed. I will miss those late night snuggles though. Love my precious girl too much. I am excited for all the fun things to come. Including her eating more solids and giving me more hugs. Love you to the moon my sweet princess.

I am trying a new thing where I do a weekend wrap up (as you can tell from the title haha). Hopefully I will do this often and it won't just be a one time thing. Life is crazy busy though so we will see. Taylor and I had a lot of fun this weekend. I feel like I am finally dating my husband again. With Harper going to bed earlier we are able to hang out and get some marriage time. On Saturday we celebrated our anniversary at Olive Garden. It was delicious obviously and way crowded like always. Can't live without that salad and breadstick combo. We brought Harper along of course because she is our favorite and our babysitter moved back to CA. Miss you Hannah. We put Harper in a high chair (rookie mistake). She was seriously crazy throwing stuff left and right, grabbing everything she could. Flirting with employees walking by and clinging onto their aprons. I wasn't even embarrassed. I was cracking up because this chick is too cute to be mad at. On the drive home, I felt like Taylor and I were back in our early days of dating. He is just the sweetest cutest guy. He kept telling me how beautiful I was and how much he loved me. This guys just melts my heart into a mushy gushy ice cream cone. On Sunday, we went to church like we do every week. It is such a special time to bond as a family and show Harper what we believe in. Harper sang along to the hymns (yelled endlessly) and made friends with every one she could. There are a few babies her age in our ward and she was having a blast playing around with them during the last hour. Every one in Relief Society probably thought I was a crazy person because I was sitting on the floor crawling around with my child. I don't even care what they think of me. Call me when you have a hyper baby who won't sit still. I was grateful to enjoy another weekend with my two favorite people. Every day I just feel more and more blessed that I get to have these amazing people in my life. I love the three of us.

I finally was able to get my hair done after two years of grown out madness. I was excited to go a little lighter. Once I got pregnant with Harper my hair got so dark and thin. I never thought that hair could make me feel so different. I wanted to go lighter because I was tired of my dark dull boring hair. After I got a caramel balayage, I felt so much better. I have seriously felt like a total hottie (not normal for me haha). Anyway, I gained a real respect for hair dressers and how awesome they make people feel. I also learned that it is okay to spoil yourself a little. Mama's got to feel confident too. Never under estimate the power of a really good hair cut. I am grateful I found the best stylist in Rexburg to help me with all my hair needs.

While Taylor and I were in CA, we took some time to hang out just the three of us. We walked from my dad's house to this little sandwich shop. It was amazing, like all the little shops in Santa Clarita. There are so many things I miss about CA and restaurants are definitely up there on the list. I loved walking with Taylor holding hands together. It started sprinkling and we didn't even care. This is the winter that I love. Soft showers, cloudy skies, light jackets. I am definitely bummed to be here in Idaho freezing my toes off. But that little moment with just the three of us, really made me feel blessed. We definitely did not have an easy travel down to CA. It took a lot of sacrifice and we ran into a ton of problems. But in that little moment I felt peace and happiness. I was glad to be in my favorite city with all my favorite people.

This year Harper wasn't old enough to really understand Santa. Next year, I think we will be able to have a lot more fun with it. It is so inane to me that in a year she will be walking and talking. I want time to slow way down. I am not ready for my little baby to be a big girl. But like, isn't she the cutest Santa you have ever seen? I should have set up my own booth in the mall and had people take pictures with her. Maybe next year.

I am so glad that all of our families live in the same town. Even though it is hard to split up time, I feel like it makes the holidays way more fun. This year with Taylor's family we got to go down to the Grove. The Grove reminds me of so many sweet memories with my mom: eating out, shopping, mommy-daughter bonding. This year it was crazy to go with a baby. Everything is crazier and better when you have kids. It was hard for me to not get stressed, nursing in the car before we even began our night. Luckily, we found an amazing family room there. Shortly after Taylor and I were walking around it started to rain. I wish I could have captured how precious Taylor looked holding Harper running around laughing with rain pouring down on them. I hope I never forget that moment. It was pure magic. We spent the majority of our time at Barnes and Noble. Who doesn't love a good book store? Some of my favorite memories are going to bookstores with my parents, picking out a book, and reading it together. This Barnes and Noble however, had no chairs. And this tired, hormonal mama was NOT happy. Taylor's brother Lucas was so sweet and walked around with me basically the whole night trying to help me find somewhere to sit. It made me happy that Taylor's siblings like me. When they were little, they hated me. Mostly because I was Taylor's first girlfriend who also had a nose ring. I didn't take it too personal. I am excited for us all to stay friends forever and raise kids together. I am also excited for Harper to have like A LOT of cousins. I love these Kozaks.
