Ever tried to take your own Christmas pictures? Yeah, well I don't recommend it. I thought being a photographer and all, I would be able to pull it off. But NOPE. Why is it that you can get other people's kids to smile for you, but your own kids won't smile even if you bribe them with an entire bag of gummy worms. Harper was not having it. Didn't help that we got to our location just as she fell asleep. And when this girl is out, she is OUT. Takes after her dad in that way. So we were able to snap a few pictures of us with Hailey. I didn't even bother getting my tripod out to try and get one of all three of us. Even though the pictures thing was kind of a bust, it was still really fun. I love getting outside and going on a quick adventure. I feel my best when I am out connecting with nature and appreciating all the beauty God has put on this Earth. There is so much beauty in places that are untouched my man. I'm grateful for National forests and having places where I can truly escape the chaos and busyness. It was also nice just having some bonding time with Taylor. One of my favorite things to do with him is go on long drives. I love talking to him. He truly is my best friend and we never have run out of things to talk about. With how crazy these last few months of been, I loved having even just an hour with him totally uninterrupted. Any way, don't be like me: save up for family pictures and let a professional photographer deal with keeping your kids entertained and smiling!

Hahaha was there ever cuter bed head? I swear this girl makes anything look cute. Even when she is throwing a tantrum, I still think she looks adorable. That charm is going to get her far. Christmas morning was the best! We started out by reading the story of Christ's birth, then we each opened the generous presents we received. Somehow all these years later Santa, still knows what I want ;). Harper got like a hundred presents between my parents, Taylor's parents, our aunts/uncles, and our grandparents. We had to take like 3 extra duffle bags home. That didn't even fit everything. We are so blessed to have so much family spoil our baby girl. Thank to you everyone who gave us such special and heart felt gifts. We love you and are enjoying them in cold Rexburg.

This Christmas Eve was super chill (my favorite). Anyone who knows me well knows my favorite thing to do is relax and enjoy good company. Christmas to me is all about spending time together. This year we got to hangout with Taylor's family and just laugh together. Harper was way too spoiled with all Taylor's siblings trying to love on her. I have to say by the end of the trip, she was lovinggg it. We also discovered on Christmas Eve that Harper apparently likes skateboarding. I guess she takes after her Daddy and Grandpa Upton. I think that this girl will be getting into all sorts of sports and reckless activities when she is older. Help me. She has no fear, except of strangers haha.

Halloween this year was so much fun. Harper was pretty terrified of trick or treating, but we still had a blast. We went around a few community events, got some candy, and played games.  Nicole dressed up as a lumber jack with us while Taylor was at school. I love having her as my best friend. Once Taylor got home from school him and Harper ran around the yard together. They really are the sweetest duo. Something about Halloween night really made me feel like a mom, I was all dressed up waiting for trick or treaters. We turned on a cheesy Halloween movie, lit some candles, and just relaxed. It was a moment I will never forget. I think I've become a big fan of Halloween.

Hi, I'm Carly Kozak.
Welcome to my tiny corner of the internet. Burning candles, chocolate ice cream, fresh flowers, cozy blankets, open windows, sunday drives, and homemade lemonade make me a happy girl.
I'm a mama to two beautiful girls. And I hope this blog can be a place where you feel welcome and warm. You can expect to see lots of yummy recipes, home design, gardening tips, and some motherhood mistakes sprinkled along the way.
