On Thursday and Friday this week my class headed down to Salt Lake for a school field trip. My teacher let me take Taylor and Harper which was so nice and fun. Taking an 11 month old on a non stop field trip was pretty exhausting. Not to mention our AC is out in our car. So it was kind of miserable a lot of the time. But we still had a total blast and got to tour tons of incredible non profits. Everywhere we went Harper was the star of the show. She loved touring all the different places. I'm always blown away by Taylor and how awesome he is. This wasn't even his class's field trip and he asked the most questions and was the only one to walk away with multiple business cards. He is a rockstar! While we were down in SLC we fell in love with it. I forgot how much I miss living in the city. The history, landscape, environment, culture, everything is so much better in the city. SLC definitely stole my heart. Please let me live there. On my trip I was grateful for a lot of things: Husbands who rub your feet, cold showers, Chinese restaurants (who deliver to your hotel), naps, old buildings, great teachers, air conditioning, mashed potatoes, and tender mercies. This trip was an amazing experience, but Harper is happy to be home in her own bed. Car naps are not ideal. Since Harper was so good, we bought her a new stuffed animal. She wanted a giant $40 Peppa Pig, but we settled for $15 Piglet from the Disney store. She honestly couldn't tel the difference. Now that we are home, she will not part from it. She kisses and pats it like its her baby. SO cute. I love her.
xo, Carly
