I am trying a new thing where I do a weekend wrap up (as you can tell from the title haha). Hopefully I will do this often and it won't just be a one time thing. Life is crazy busy though so we will see. Taylor and I had a lot of fun this weekend. I feel like I am finally dating my husband again. With Harper going to bed earlier we are able to hang out and get some marriage time. On Saturday we celebrated our anniversary at Olive Garden. It was delicious obviously and way crowded like always. Can't live without that salad and breadstick combo. We brought Harper along of course because she is our favorite and our babysitter moved back to CA. Miss you Hannah. We put Harper in a high chair (rookie mistake). She was seriously crazy throwing stuff left and right, grabbing everything she could. Flirting with employees walking by and clinging onto their aprons. I wasn't even embarrassed. I was cracking up because this chick is too cute to be mad at. On the drive home, I felt like Taylor and I were back in our early days of dating. He is just the sweetest cutest guy. He kept telling me how beautiful I was and how much he loved me. This guys just melts my heart into a mushy gushy ice cream cone. On Sunday, we went to church like we do every week. It is such a special time to bond as a family and show Harper what we believe in. Harper sang along to the hymns (yelled endlessly) and made friends with every one she could. There are a few babies her age in our ward and she was having a blast playing around with them during the last hour. Every one in Relief Society probably thought I was a crazy person because I was sitting on the floor crawling around with my child. I don't even care what they think of me. Call me when you have a hyper baby who won't sit still. I was grateful to enjoy another weekend with my two favorite people. Every day I just feel more and more blessed that I get to have these amazing people in my life. I love the three of us.

I finally was able to get my hair done after two years of grown out madness. I was excited to go a little lighter. Once I got pregnant with Harper my hair got so dark and thin. I never thought that hair could make me feel so different. I wanted to go lighter because I was tired of my dark dull boring hair. After I got a caramel balayage, I felt so much better. I have seriously felt like a total hottie (not normal for me haha). Anyway, I gained a real respect for hair dressers and how awesome they make people feel. I also learned that it is okay to spoil yourself a little. Mama's got to feel confident too. Never under estimate the power of a really good hair cut. I am grateful I found the best stylist in Rexburg to help me with all my hair needs.

While Taylor and I were in CA, we took some time to hang out just the three of us. We walked from my dad's house to this little sandwich shop. It was amazing, like all the little shops in Santa Clarita. There are so many things I miss about CA and restaurants are definitely up there on the list. I loved walking with Taylor holding hands together. It started sprinkling and we didn't even care. This is the winter that I love. Soft showers, cloudy skies, light jackets. I am definitely bummed to be here in Idaho freezing my toes off. But that little moment with just the three of us, really made me feel blessed. We definitely did not have an easy travel down to CA. It took a lot of sacrifice and we ran into a ton of problems. But in that little moment I felt peace and happiness. I was glad to be in my favorite city with all my favorite people.

This year Harper wasn't old enough to really understand Santa. Next year, I think we will be able to have a lot more fun with it. It is so inane to me that in a year she will be walking and talking. I want time to slow way down. I am not ready for my little baby to be a big girl. But like, isn't she the cutest Santa you have ever seen? I should have set up my own booth in the mall and had people take pictures with her. Maybe next year.

I am so glad that all of our families live in the same town. Even though it is hard to split up time, I feel like it makes the holidays way more fun. This year with Taylor's family we got to go down to the Grove. The Grove reminds me of so many sweet memories with my mom: eating out, shopping, mommy-daughter bonding. This year it was crazy to go with a baby. Everything is crazier and better when you have kids. It was hard for me to not get stressed, nursing in the car before we even began our night. Luckily, we found an amazing family room there. Shortly after Taylor and I were walking around it started to rain. I wish I could have captured how precious Taylor looked holding Harper running around laughing with rain pouring down on them. I hope I never forget that moment. It was pure magic. We spent the majority of our time at Barnes and Noble. Who doesn't love a good book store? Some of my favorite memories are going to bookstores with my parents, picking out a book, and reading it together. This Barnes and Noble however, had no chairs. And this tired, hormonal mama was NOT happy. Taylor's brother Lucas was so sweet and walked around with me basically the whole night trying to help me find somewhere to sit. It made me happy that Taylor's siblings like me. When they were little, they hated me. Mostly because I was Taylor's first girlfriend who also had a nose ring. I didn't take it too personal. I am excited for us all to stay friends forever and raise kids together. I am also excited for Harper to have like A LOT of cousins. I love these Kozaks.

It is pretty special when you get to see your parent become a grandparent. I really got to see that with my dad this trip. He was a total goober just like I expected. Harper has him wrapped around her little finger. My dad and my stepmom really spoiled us this trip. We got to stay with them and they showered Harper with so many generous gifts. We were also able to be at their Christmas Eve party where Harper got to meet all the Upton clan. While everyone was enjoying how perfect Harper was, they decided to tell me stories of when I was a baby. Apparently I wasn't very pleasant haha. Who knew? I turned out okay I think. I was really grateful that Harper got to meet everyone. It is hard living so far away from family. I cried as soon as we got back home. We were so spoiled this Christmas vacation and I can't wait to go back!

^^^ too much disney for one baby
You know when you're on your way to Disneyland and you hope that it is one of those days where no one else is there? Yeah... Our hopes were crushed as soon as we entered the parking lot. It was so insane. I was instantly stressed out. I wasn't sure how Harper was going to react to Disneyland without the added commotion. We decided to eat at Rainforest Cafe first. A very delicious choice. After we ate I needed to feed Harper and was hoping Rainforest had a family room for me to nurse in. What I thought was a nursing room ended up being a one person bathroom with a woman peeing in it. I was obviously emotionally scared by the incident. So, with no better options I just fed Harper at the table. It felt liberating to just feed my baby and not feel like I needed to hide myself. No body stared at me and no body told me to stop. This is why I love Southern CA. When we finally got to the park, we decided to just pick a ride to go on. Haunted Mansion won of course! My favorite. We had to abandon our nice stroller which really stressed me out, but Taylor and my mama helped me calm down. What would I do without them? We waited in line for two hours and Taylor ran into a family from his mission. I swear Mormons are everywhere. Harper loved the ride. Taylor and my brother Colby headed over to Space Mountain while my mom and I got treats and a spot to watch the parade. Did you know Disneyland has a nursing room? It's on Main Street and it's totally legit. There are really nice workers in there that made me feel like a really important person. And I'm just an average person. Harper loved the night parade. And Colby and Taylor were disappointed when Space Mountain closed after waiting for an hour and a half in line. Poor guys. Disneyland was a success in my book. I road Haunted Mansion and got a churro. What more can you need? Oh and Harper had a total blast. I was one tired happy mama.
