Carly Kozak

This Christmas Eve was super chill (my favorite). Anyone who knows me well knows my favorite thing to do is relax and enjoy good company. Christmas to me is all about spending time together. This year we got to hangout with Taylor's family and just laugh together. Harper was way too spoiled with all Taylor's siblings trying to love on her. I have to say by the end of the trip, she was lovinggg it. We also discovered on Christmas Eve that Harper apparently likes skateboarding. I guess she takes after her Daddy and Grandpa Upton. I think that this girl will be getting into all sorts of sports and reckless activities when she is older. Help me. She has no fear, except of strangers haha.

Remember when I said Harper was a straight up mermaid? My parents just put in a pool and OH MY WORD. Harper was obsessed. I think Harper might end up being an Olympic swimmer or something. Or maybe just grow gills and a tail. Should we have named her Ariel? I have to say that even though we only visit once a year, my parents made a good investment putting this thing in. I mean look at that cheesy smile. Harper was twirling and splashing and kicking her legs every where. She was in heaven. Taylor was the best dad ever and swam with her the whole time. My heart seriously melted watching them play together. They are my favorite ever.

Am I the only who seriously cries when they see Christmas lights? I think that they are pure magic. The cold air, dark sky, Christmas music, bright lights, smiling faces, warm coco. Everything about Christmas is special. My parents took us to go walk around Wakefield Wonderland. This place is a little hometown secret treasure. The streets in this neighborhood deck out their houses in lights. Every single house is glowing and has its own fun theme. It feels like you are in a whole other world there. Harper definitely takes after her mama and was mystified by the whole experience. Her face was filled with pure joy as we walked from house to house. Christmas is so much better with this little girl by our side.

Warm salty air, the smell of the ocean, sand in my toes, and the sound of waves crashing down...This trip to CA was just what the doctor ordered. It was an incredible time getting to go visit family and spend alone time with everyone. My mom decided to take us on a little get away down to Ventura Beach. It was so fun. Harper is a straight up mermaid. She was diving head first into the water and rolling around in the sand. I thought we would never get her to leave and would have to just move there. Taylor was so sweet playing with her. They really are the cutest pair. Being down there with my mom reminded me of all the fun beach trips we had together. It made me excited for all the fun adventures Harper and I will get to have as a mommy-daughter duo. We will need to start doing anual beach trips, or just move to the beach and never leave! Anyone want to join us?

Halloween this year was so much fun. Harper was pretty terrified of trick or treating, but we still had a blast. We went around a few community events, got some candy, and played games.  Nicole dressed up as a lumber jack with us while Taylor was at school. I love having her as my best friend. Once Taylor got home from school him and Harper ran around the yard together. They really are the sweetest duo. Something about Halloween night really made me feel like a mom, I was all dressed up waiting for trick or treaters. We turned on a cheesy Halloween movie, lit some candles, and just relaxed. It was a moment I will never forget. I think I've become a big fan of Halloween.
